We are pilots. Its not the name that makes us who we are, its the feeling of true freedom that makes us proud to be one.
That is why we created Aviators Paradise.

Come visit us, take our planes for a spin and enjoy the bushveld scene around the airfield. After a satisfying flight, come and share your stories and adventures with us in our canteen.
If its microlites that you prefer, don't worry as we cater for those enthusiasts too.

We are not only geared towards pilots, but also to people to have always felt the need to be in the air.
We offer professional flight training courses at the airfield. Our trainers offer a quality learning experience, along with worthy advise and a friendly attitude.

Around about 2001 a group of pilots got together and discussed the issue of airfields closing down and being taken over by government for other purposes. In the past, most airfields were located on municipal or government property and then rented to flying clubs at a nominal fee. But with the new legislation and changes in our country, none of these airfields were secure any more. The idea was for a group of aviation enthusiasts to secure a piece of property on which a runway, a few hangars and a workshop could be built. An added bonus would be if one could have a weekend cottage or even a permanent home on the airfield. During the next few years a few options were explored but none of them were quite what we wanted. Early in 2005 an old crop spraying strip was discovered. It had not been in use for some years but a gravel runway and an open sided hangar was already on the property.

On the 1st March 2005, Aviators Paradise was established. And now the work just started. First a section of the property was fenced off for security reasons. The open sided hanger was closed off and most importantly a workshop was built.

The runway was cleaned up and soon the word spread that Aviators Paradise was open to our friends who wanted to fly in and visit.

It then became apparent that this was an expensive dream and that vast amounts of money would have to be spent on upgrades and maintenance. A decision was made to build ten T hangars that would be rented out to other aircraft owners to cover some of the maintenance costs. But now all the potential tenants wanted a tar runway. Well in for a penny, in for a pound. Hangars and tar runway were constructed and to our delight, the interest just grew and grew.
A clubhouse with refreshment facilities and a clean ablution block was built.
A flying school, Brits Flight Training Center was established.

A second row of ten T hangars were built. After some long and really frustrating (expensive) negotiations with the Civil Aviation Authority of S A and the North West Government, the airfield is now licensed, which means any aircraft using our facility is covered by their own insurance. As we already have limited commercial rights on the property we have started further negotiations to turn the airfield into a flight park. This would bring more facilities to our growing customer base. And possibly even a housing estate.
