Krugersdorp (Jack Taylor) Airfield is a licensed airport, situated 2nm west of Krugersdorp, now known as Mogale City. Elevation is 5500' and is below the Lanseria TMA which extends upwards from 6500'. The airport is operated by the Krugersdorp Flying Club and is home to about 120 light aircraft.

HMS Krugersdorp, as the airfield is affectionately known, is built on top of a hill . Approach and short finals on runway 26 has a cliff of about 200' and can make for exciting flying.

Being on the West Rand, and a fair distance from the bigger airports of Johannesburg, ie FAJS, FALA, FAGM and FAGC, our skies are quieter making your flying that bit more pleasant - no stacking! We welcome owners of light aircraft to join the club and base their aircraft at this well maintained facility. Pop in to visit our enthusiastic bunch of aviators!

The airfield boasts 2 flying schools,2 AMO's, aircraft manufacturers, hangarage, BP Avgas, a clubhouse with pub, braai facilities (for organized events) in an attractive garden. The club holds member's meetings monthly. Featuring a spectacular view from the clubhouse, one looks over the valley west of Zwartkops and takes in the Magaliesburg mountain range on the horizon. Sunsets and sundowners are enjoyed by our members at this popular watering hole. Lanseria and the Magaliesburg general flying area are a quick 6 minute hop from take off!

Aviation events include the annual Spot Landing Competition and Fly In, held this year on 19 August and sponsored by SA Flyer as well as breakfast runs twice monthly. Members arrange regular flying days and are actively involved in all aspects of aviation including building and restoration projects. One project near completion is a 1948 Navion with wing tanks - a 5th year project which will hopefully be airborne by year end.

Attractions include the neighhbouring Mogale City Nature Reserve with lions and several species of antelope , the nearby world famous Sterkfontein Caves, Rhino & Lion Park and the Cradle of Humankind. The metropolis of Johannesburg is within easy reach by car.
